Hazrat Dr. Mufti Mohd. Mukarram Ahmed is the current Shahi Imam of Masjid Fatehpuri, Delhi. He is well reputed Mufti of India since 1391 A.H./1971 A.D. He is master of Five International languages & has done Ph.D in Modern Arabic Literature. His Ph.D topic is “A critical study of the Poetic Dramas of Aziz Abaza” the Egyptian famous poet. Through out of his life he has an excellent academic record and he was awarded University Models in B.A. (Hons Arabic) in 1975 and in the exam of M.A. in 1977. His ancestors, grand-fathers were serving in the Masjid Fatehpuri since the period of Mughal dynasty.
He is also the author of several books. He had been invited on many occasions by several International Organizations. Delegates from different countries had also visited Masjid Fatehpuri to exchange their views with Shahi Imam. He has been regarded by different leaders of all communities in India & abroad.
He has been the Author & the Editor for many Islamic Books & other Islamic Publications. He is not only a well known Shahi Imam but also a great Scholar and Mufti-e-Azam of India.

Mufti-e-Hind Muhammad Mazher-ullah, rehmat ullah alaih, Mufti-e-Azam, was a great Islamic Scholar and a Shahi Imam of Masjid Fatehpuri Delhi. He was born on 15th Rajab,1303 Hijri (21st April,1886). Since his childhood he had been a great Aashique-e-Rasool, and Wali Allah. Throughout his life he has done Imamat of Shahi Masjid Fatehpuri, Delhi for more than 70+ years. He had a knack Ilme Tauqeet. He prepared a chart of 5 times prayers, the time of Sunrise and Sunset in about 1945 AD and this chart of timing is famous and still used in the mosques of Delhi / NCR. He was Hafiz-e-Quran, he was extremely high on ‘Maqam-e-Ruhaniyat’. He used to provide extremely well authenticated ‘Fatwa’, even highly qualified ‘Mashaiq’ consulted and accepted his ‘Fatwas’. Mufti-e-Hind Muhammad Mazher ullah (rehmat ullah alaih) has written many books on ‘Fiqah’, Islamic Aqaids and on Islamic Issues which benefited thousands of muslims & non muslims in India, Pakistan & around the Globe. Mufti-e-Hind Muhammad Mazher ullah rehmat ullah alaih has made numerous ‘Mureeds’ all over the World who are spreading his teachings and spiritual guidance. Hazrat Dr. Mufti Mukarram Ahmed, Naqsh Bandi, Chisti, Qadri, the Shahi Imam is one of the Khalifa Janasheen of him. He left this World on 14th Shabaan 1386 hijri (28th Nov’1966). His demise had made everyone silent, and in tears.

Maulana Mufti Muhammad Ahmed Sahab was born in Delhi in the year 1919 AD and was the son of Mufti Shah Muhammad Mazhar Ullah (rahmat ullah alaih). He was Naib Imam of Masjid Fatehpuri since 1942 and in Nov’1966, he became the Shahi Imam of same Masjid. His Fatwas were also very authentic and famous in India. He was very social, qualified, straightforward, pure hearted person and had a beautiful mesmerizing voice. He was Hafiz e Quran and very good Qari. While reciting Quran-e-Pak his voice (without loudspeaker) could easily be heard from every corner of Masjid Fatehpuri, Delhi. He taught Quran shareef to around a hundred disciples and every student got succeeded in memorizing Quran-e-kareem and became “Hafiz-e-Quran”. He learnt Dental surgery from a renowned Dental Surgeon of Delhi during that time and got the command on this profession. Many great dental surgeons consulted him in this profession. People loved his style of speach, his behavior and his whole personality. Many great persons called him ‘Wali’ as he had many sifaat of wali in him. He passed away on 1st Ramazan ul Mubarak, 1391.hijri (22nd October, 1971). He was buried in the Ahata of Hazrat Meeran Nanu Shah in the courtyard of Shahi Masjid Fatehpuri in the left side of Hazrat Mufti Mohammed Mazharullah.

Prof. Dr. Mohd. Masood Ahmed

Professor Dr. Masood Ahmed was the son of Mufti-e-Hind, Shaikhul Islam Shah Muhammad Mazhar Ullah (rahmat ullah alaih). He was born in Delhi in 1930. He did his education from Madarsa-e-Aaliya (Masjid Fatehpuri, Delhi) and from his great father he further studied. Prof. Masood Ahmed was a Writer, Spiritual Leader, Reformer, Guide and a Philosopher. He excelled in his examinations of M.A & M.Ed at Sindh University and was awarded Silver & Gold medals. He further did his Ph. D. from Sindh University, Jamshoro, Hyderabad, Pakistan. Prof. Dr. Masood Ahmed was bestowed “Izaz-e-Fazilat” by the Government of Pakistan.
Prof. Dr. Masood Ahmed has written numerous books on Imam Ahmed Raza Khan Sahab (rehmat ullah alaih), which is why he is famous by the title “Mahir-e-Rizwaniyat. He has written several books on Seerat-un-Nabi and his most remarkable achievement is the encyclopedia of Hazrat Imam Rabbani Hazrat Mujaddid Alf-e-Sani Sirhind. It contains 14 volumes. This encyclopedia has been read, appreciated all over the World. Eldest Son of Hazrat Maulana Mufti-e-Azam Dr. Mufti Mohd. Mukarram Ahmed
Mufti Mohd. Anas Ahmed (Naib Imam, Shahi Masjid Fatehpuri, Delhi) was born in January 1987 in Delhi, India. He is the eldest son of Mufti-e-Azam Dr. Mufti Mukarram Ahmed, the Shahi Imam of Masjid Fatehpuri, Delhi. Mufti Mohd. Anas Ahmed is a Hafiz-e-Qur’an and a Qari. He graduated from Madrasa-e-Aaliya Fatehpuri, Delhi in 2003. In 2007, he has done his Bachelor Degree in B.A. (Hons.) from Jamia Millia Islamia, followed by a Master’s degree (M.A.) in Urdu in 2009 and an M.Phil. from Delhi University. During his M.Phil. studies, he authored a research work on “Novel Writing by Deputy Nazir Ahmed”, which was later published in a reputed weekly journal. He is also spiritually connected to and was a disciple (Mureed) of the late Prof. Dr. Mohd. Masood Ahmed of Karachi, Pakistan. Since 2017, he has been serving as the Naib Imam of Shahi Masjid Fatehpuri, fulfilling his religious responsibilities with dedication & honesty. He has also been officially declared the successor (Janasheen) of Dr. Mufti Mukarram Ahmed. Every year during the holy month of Ramadan, Mufti Mohd. Anas Ahmed leads the Tarawih prayers. He also holds the position of Naib Sajjada Nasheen at Khanqah-e-Aaliya Naqshbandia. Maulana Hafiz Saad Ahmed, the second son, holds degrees in M.Com. and MBA, and is currently working in the private sector. Maulana Hammad Ahmed, the 3rd and the youngest son, has completed his B.A., LLB and is also serving as a Naib Imam (Honorary). All the three sons of Dr. Mufti Mukarram Ahmed actively assist him in organizing Iftar events during Ramadan and are also engaged in various educational, religious & other social services within & outside Masjid Fatehpuri. All of them are known for their decency and deep respect for their elders. May Allah Tala always keep all of them under the blessings of their ancestors for the rest of their life. Ameen !!
